what am i up to? very valid question ~

hello,

my junior year at SAIC has concluded, and i have learned lots. i focused almost entirely on painting this year and have just fallen deeper and deeper in love with that medium- towards the end of the second semester sculpture did start creeping back into my work, and i welcomed it- though i do feel painting is where my heart and home truly lie.

i just completed my first semester of advanced painting- a competitive 9-credit program where we work with 3 different professors, have 21 hours of class time per week, and have the privilege of our own studio space! definitely looking forward to continuing that adventure when school begins again in the fall.

until then? i am home in eagan, minnesota for my younger brother’s last summer before he leaves for college! in that time, i have two internships~ 1: i am an event / art instructor intern at Caponi Art Park, where i will be helping to run events and performances taking place in the park, i will also be giving tours of the park and working with groups of people coming in to visit. 2: i am also an apprentice at The White Page, an artists collective and gallery space run by 4 practicing artists, featuring artists in residency with them, etc. I will have gallery hours, helping artists in residence prepare for their upcoming shows/peformances, and help on those nights as well. all in all, a very exciting summer!

I will return to Chicago in late July to start my position as senior resident advisor, where i will be overseeing the team of RAs as well as running the on-campus Siragusa Gallery space ~ and preparing for my final year of school !

see my work, contact me, i’d love to have conversations

love

e
